Welcome to the registration for the Global Health Hub Germany's Simulation Exercise "Critical Choices – Beyond the Pathogen: The Social Dimension of Pandemics"
Join us for an engaging and interactive session on 12 October 2026 from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM in which you step into the role of a time-traveling international crisis response delegation making tough decisions during infectious disease outbreaks throughout history.
This tabletop simulation exercise with interactive elements is designed especially for those interested in the topic of pandemic preparedness and response as well as the social and mental health dimensions within it – including young professionals, students, all experts with interest in MHPSS in pandemics and anyone working in education or knowledge-sharing roles.
Using the method of serious gaming, you will explore the complex trade-offs and urgent choices required to protect not only phyiscal but mental and social wellbeing of populations during times of crisis.
Following the simulation, a panel discussion will highlight key lessons and policy implications emerging from the exercise, with a focus on integrating mental health and psychosocial support, community trust, and community-based services into effective outbreak preparedness and response frameworks.
Please note that this is an in-person event only that can be attended without a ticket to this year's WHS.
