Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a critical threat with far-reaching consequences. Resistant microbes spread worldwide, exacerbating poverty, jeopardising food security, and widening inequalities. Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) bear a disproportionate burden of infectious diseases and AMR due to region-specific factors, such as limited access to clean water, sanitation, healthcare, and unregulated sale of antimicrobials.
Funding efforts to mitigate AMR have been primarily driven by the Global North donors, who have traditionally been shaping the AMR global health (research) agendas, with variable engagement and ownership by LMIC policymakers and stakeholders.
To enhance awareness of these challenges and the current AMR resource mobilisation in LMICs, the 'Advocacy for Impact - Strengthening Sustainable Resource Mobilisation in LMICs' Action Group invites you to join our webinar on
1 February 2024, 02:00 PM – 03:30 PM (CET) via MS-Teams
